Remote Learning

Let's celebrate all the fantastic home-learning you are doing.  We’re so proud of you Year 3.  Keep working your socks off, stay safe and above all else… KEEP SMILING!

Welcome to Year 3

We would like to welcome you and your child to Year 3's class page. We will add many exciting things to our webpage throughout the year. We hope your find the information useful.

Meet the Year 3 Team

As a staff team, we believe we can meet your child’s needs more effectively if we work together. We value your input as your child’s primary carer, and as an expert on your child. We rely on your partnership, so together we can provide your child with the highest quality education and care. This will make their time at school happy and enjoyable.

The Year 3 team consists of Miss Garbett and Mrs Perry.

We begin each day with guided reading, English and maths. In addition, children will be read with individually at least once per week. Lessons that are part of the wider curriculum are usually taught during the afternoon including: History, Geography, Science, P.E, Art, Music, PSHE, R.E and D&T. Homework is sent home weekly including: Online Reading, Spellings and Online Maths.

Our Topics this year include:

· World War Two (History topic)

· Volcanoes (Geography topic)

· Stone Age (History topic)

Please refer to the curriculum handbook on the school website to explore these topics further.

Our fiction text this term is The Lion and the Unicorn by Shirley Hughes.

We will be writing, editing and improving a range of different text types including character descriptions, story setting, instructions and non-chronological reports.

We thank you for your continued support.

A little poem by  Mrs Perry.

Discover a fascinating learning world,

When you visit us inside Class 3,

Friendly children and welcoming Staff,

Work as a team so come and see.

We create an inspiring learning world,

Opportunities galore,

See fun, creativity and excitement,

As soon as you walk through the door.

We are all inspired to learn new things,

We’re creative, curious and have fun,

The opportunity is certainly there for all,

We are important, EVERYONE.

Every child is equal here,

Everyone has a place,

Adults and children work as one,

Read ‘teamwork’ on their face.

Our class helps every child to learn,

Life skills and right from wrong,

To equip them for the world outside,

Help feel that they belong.

So let us all work hard together,

Teachers, families and friends,

For together we help build the character,

Of children in the end.
